Throwing a Graduation Party to Remember

Throwing a Graduation Party to Remember Whether you have a friend or family member graduating this summer, it’s a major cause for celebration. Earning your degree is a major accomplishment, and life begins to change after this milestone. Once school’s over, the next step is often college or a career. For those graduating, it’s important to spend time with friends and family before taking on that next chapter in life.

Make this graduation party something they’ll cherish for the rest of their life. All it takes is a little planning!

The first step to planning a graduation party for a loved one is picking out the perfect location.

You can have your party indoors, like at a favorite local restaurant or hotel, but why be inside when the weather is so great this time of year? Spring is the perfect time for an outdoor party so we strongly encourage you to think about having it in your backyard, a local park, or even an amusement park. All are great outdoor spots to bring everyone together.

Once you’ve picked out the location, find ways to make it festive!

Do you know the two best decorations for a graduation party? School colors and embarrassing baby pictures. Get all your decorations, like balloons and streamers, in school colors. These can be the colors where the student graduated from or, if they’re going off to college, the colors of the school that they’ll be attending.

No graduation party is complete without embarrassing baby pictures. There are a couple of neat ways to display those pictures like doing a photo wall or collage. Find a nice big blank wall or even some space on the fence if your party’s outdoors. Arrange the baby pictures like this. Or get some twine and clothes pins to make this photo wall.

Then you’ll need to decide what you’ll feed your guests.

When having a large group of people over, you want to be sure that you have something for everyone. Burgers are always a crowd pleaser. Especially Moore’s Secret Burgers. Just combine 1 lb. ground beef, ¼ cup Moore’s Original Marinade, ¼ finely minced red onion. Form patties and grill as usual. If you’re going for easy-to-eat foods, think about turning these hamburgers into sliders. Here’s another great choice:

Chicken Kabobs a la Moore’s
    1 cup Moore's Original Marinade
2 large onions chopped in 1 1/2' pieces
2 bell peppers chopped in 1 1/2' pieces
    1 lb fresh mushrooms
   1 pack cherry tomatoes
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
Cut chicken into bite sized pieces.
Marinate chicken and vegetables in Moore's Marinade for at least 30 minutes.
Put vegetables and meat on separate skewers. Grill 15-20 minutes or until done.
After cooking, alternate meat and vegetables on skewers.
Don’t forget dessert! Graduation themed desserts are a must!

Try these Graduation Cap Peanut Butter Cups, or one of our personal favorites, Twinkie Diplomas.

Throwing a graduation party is a big responsibility. It’s the last major gathering with friends and family before they head off to begin their adult life. As long as you have a good location, décor, and great food, it’s sure to be a graduation party to remember for a lifetime!
